Giromax have a close working relationship with D & D COATINGS, having completed many projects with them over the years. This longevity provides all parties with a mutual trust and understanding when working together. These 2 elements assist greatly when coming together to achieve a positive outcome.
Regarding this project there were certain issues raised, these were mainly at the preparation stage. However, with the experience of the D & D employees and some guidance from Giromax Technical Service Managers, the project started and finished well.

Problem
The main challenges regarding this roof were very similar to all roof scenarios, that being the weather and the need for good early preparation.
The weather was out of our hands, however making sure that good preparation and the cleaning of the roof wasn’t. This was all thoroughly done by D & D ensuring any loose coating was taken back to a firm edge, and all dirt, grease and moss were removed. This was all prior to the new paint system being applied.
Solution
Very simply put the solution to the issues at hand were to apply Giromax ROOFCOAT, and our EDGECOAT also.
Whilst ensuring that all specifications are followed, from the preparation to the actual application of the paint itself.
Also, the close communication between us and D & D, were critical to the positive outcome of the project.
Giromax Technical Services Managers are always at the end of the phone, for advice and guidance and will happily attend site if required.

Giromax® Roofcoat is a one coat hybrid coating that encapsulates the substrate to restore long – term protection to profiled metal roof sheets.
Giromax® Roofcoat retains lasting flexibility and adhesion without cracking or peeling. It can easily accommodate sheet movement and remains UV and temperature stable. Fully moisture tolerant, it can be applied to wet surfaces and hardens to a tough elastic coating with high impact absorption and damage resistance. Being a one coat application, installation costs, site disruption and risks associated with working at height are all significantly reduced.
Giromax® Edgecoat has been specifically developed to supersede the design limitations of older silicone treatments by overcoming both dependence on moisture free corrosion control and a vulnerability to impact and abrasion damage, especially from bird attack.
Fully moisture tolerant, Giromax® Edgecoat can be applied to wet surfaces, removing application restrictions and performance limitations. Edgecoat can easily accommodate sheet movement and remains unaffected by UV and temperature, achieving robust lap edge encapsulation by hardening to a tough elastic coat with high impact absorption and damage resistance.
